Pr.St.S1 Schönherz is a purebred Trakehner mare who made history by becoming the first Australian born Purebred Trakehner mare to be graded Premium mare in the Trakehner Verband. She has been accepted into the Verband as a Premium Mare based on her sporting performance under saddle, due to her being in Australia and unable to participate in the mare performance test which is conducted in Germany. She is the first Trakehner mare in Australia to have been born in Australia and be awarded Premium Mare through this process. Also, with Roses outstanding results thus far she is currently being considered to be awarded the TSF suffix (Trakehner Sportpferde-Föerderung) which would be an incredible honour and make her the first Trakehner in Australian history to receive this prestigious title.  

Roses is a big, brave a powerful mare, who is naturally built up hill, with three outstanding paces, a bold and scopy jump and a fantastic attitude to ridden work and thriving from learning and being challenged.

Roses' was bred with intention to be an Eventer. As a four-year-old she had a very strong start to Eventing and Show Jumping, taking on all challenges asked of her with ease and producing faultless rounds in all phases. As Roses was progressing so strongly and confidently, and was too young to move her up the levels, it was decided to give her some time off as a four-year-old and put her in foal. In August 2020 Roses delivered an outstanding colt by the infamous E.H. Grafenstolz (E.H. Polarion TSF x Camelot). Covid-19 hit which furthered Roses return to competition, and during this time her rider sustained a serious injury which threatened her ability to ever jump again. Once events started again, Roses commenced Eventing and Show Jumping, which was very short lived. Roses competed to EvA95 Eventing and trained to CCI2*, and Show Jumped to 110cm, training to 125cm before ending her jumping career.

 

Roses' has shifted to Dressage and Para Dressage and has taken to it very impressively, turning heads everywhere she goes. With her rider who is now a Para Equestrian, Mietta Innes-Irons, Glen Tanner's owner, breeder, trainer and competitor, is competing against entirely able bodied riders, with Roses yet to be unplaced in both Dressage and Para Dressage. Roses is now in preparation and campaigning towards the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games for a place on the Australian Para Dressage Team.

Roses' dam, So Lucy xx, is a French bred Thoroughbred mare who was accepted into the Trakehner Verband with a Premium score. So Lucy xx proved herself as a quality thoroughbred when she was accepted into the Trakehner Verband Studbook as a Premium Mare. So Lucy xx has three even, strong and floating paces, with her trot and canter scoring 8.0's. So Lucy xx also has lovely conformation and is a very nice type which compliments the Trakehner, showing a strong shoulder, well set neck, proportioned pasterns and a defined topline.Not only has she got the conformation and movement but So Lucy xx also has an outstanding temperament, which she has passed onto her foals.

Roses' sire, E.H. Herzensdieb ( E.H. Tambour a.d. St.Pr.u.Pr.St.S1 Herzensfreude v. E.H. Tivano), has a long list of achievements to his name. The 16.2hh licensing champion and crowd favorite at the 2005 Trakehner licensing in Neumünster, Germany, E.H. Herzensdieb finished his stallion performance test as reserve champion and won the Trakehner Championship for 3-year-old stallions in the same year. He is a Bundeschampionate qualifier.

The striking bay stallion's intelligence and rideability allow him to flourish in his upper level dressage training, and his athleticism gives him talent over fences with beautiful scope. His correct gaits are expressive with the ability to collect.

Herzensdieb has a FN breeding value dressage of 142 points and is in the top 10 percent of German dressage sires. He was honored with the prestigious Elite Hengst title (E.H.) in 2013 by the Trakehner Verband, and he is currently one of the few E.H. awarded stallions that are actively breeding in the United States.
